Luxury Vinyl Tile in Missouri City
Picture a floor with the color and veining of slate or porcelain that stays comfortable under bare feet and won't crack when a pan slips. We test and flatten your subfloor first, lay every tile to a plan we agree on together, and clean up like we would at a neighbor's house.
A Tile Look That Is Easier to Live On
Luxury vinyl tile, or LVT, is a layered vinyl floor sold in square and rectangular sizes. Its photographic top layer copies the color and veining of marble, travertine, slate or porcelain. It feels warmer underfoot than real tile, it is quieter, and a dropped glass is far less likely to break. Most products handle spills and mopping well, which makes LVT a good fit for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and entries.
There are two main styles. Rigid core LVT has a stiff center layer and locks together edge to edge, resting on the subfloor without adhesive. Glue-down LVT is thinner and gets spread onto the slab with adhesive, a good choice for rooms crowded with cabinets or heavy furniture. A few lines are designed to be grouted for a true tile appearance. We help you pick the one that suits the room, not the priciest box on the shelf.
If you prefer a wood look in long boards, our Luxury Vinyl Plank page covers that option. Both are installed with the same care.
What Your LVT Installation Includes
- Moving furniture and removing the old floor
- We move furniture out of the work area and take up the old carpet, vinyl or tile. Ceramic tile removal is loud and dusty, so we seal off doorways with plastic and keep the mess contained to the room we are working in.
- Slab moisture and flatness checks
- Nearly every home we work in sits on a concrete slab, and damp ground in our humid climate can send water vapor up into the floor above it. We take a moisture reading before anything goes down, and we run a straightedge across the room to find dips and humps that would make tiles rock or open at the seams.
- Leveling and patching
- Low spots get filled with self-leveling compound or patch, and high spots get ground down. This step is what keeps your floor flat and quiet for years.
- A layout planned with you
- Before the first tile goes down, we mark a center line and dry-fit a few rows so the cut pieces at doorways and along the wall you see most are a good size, not narrow slivers. If you would like a brick offset or a diagonal pattern, we settle that with you ahead of time.
- Trim, transitions and fixtures
- Door jambs are undercut so the tile slides beneath them cleanly. We fit transitions to neighboring floors, reinstall baseboards or add quarter round, and reset toilets in bathrooms with a new wax ring.
- Cleanup
- We haul away the old flooring and scraps, vacuum the room and put your furniture back.
Signs LVT Might Be Right for Your Home
Cracked tile or crumbling grout
Slab movement in clay soil can crack ceramic tile and grout over time. LVT has a little give, so small shifts are far less likely to show up as cracks.
A cold, hard kitchen floor
If standing at the counter makes your feet and back ache, LVT offers a softer surface that still looks like tile.
Peeling sheet vinyl in a bathroom
Curling edges and bubbles around the tub or toilet let water get underneath. A new LVT floor with tight seams fixes the problem at the source.
Stained carpet in a busy entry or laundry room
Carpet holds onto mud, pet accidents and spills. LVT wipes clean with a damp mop.
You want stone looks on a sensible budget
Real marble and slate are heavy, cold and need sealing. LVT gives you the same color and texture with much less upkeep.
What Shapes the Price of an LVT Floor
Two LVT jobs of the same size can cost quite differently. The biggest swings usually come from what is under your current floor and the product you choose. We explain each part of the estimate so you can see where the money goes.
Square footage and room shape
Open, rectangular rooms go quickly. Small bathrooms, closets and rooms with many corners take more cuts and more time per square foot.
Product and wear layer
Thicker rigid core tiles with heavier wear layers cost more than thin glue-down tiles. Groutable lines add grout and labor.
Removing what is there now
Pulling carpet is quick. Chipping out ceramic tile and its thinset takes much longer and produces more debris to haul away.
Subfloor condition
A flat, dry slab needs little prep. Dips, cracks or high moisture call for leveling compound or a vapor barrier.
Pattern and trim
Diagonal and offset layouts create more waste. Stairs, new baseboards and multiple transitions also add to the total.
How Your Install Goes
- 1
A visit to measure and look
We come out, measure each room, check the slab and talk about how you use the space. You get a written estimate that lists removal, prep, materials and trim as separate lines.
- 2
Delivery and acclimation
The tile is delivered to your home a day or two ahead so it can adjust to your indoor temperature and humidity before we open the boxes.
- 3
Removal and prep day
We protect walls and nearby floors, pull up the old flooring, then test and level the subfloor. If we find something unexpected, like a soft spot or a crack in the slab, we show you before we go further.
- 4
Laying the tile
We work out from the center line, cut tiles around vents, cabinets and door frames, then add trim and transitions. Most single rooms are finished in a day once prep is done.
- 5
A last look together
Once the final transition is in, we look over the seams and edges with you. We pass along the care basics, like which cleaners to skip and why felt pads matter under chairs, and answer anything on your mind before we load up.

Luxury Vinyl Tile Questions
What is the difference between luxury vinyl tile and luxury vinyl plank?
Both are built from the same layers of vinyl. What changes is the format. LVT is sized in squares and rectangles that copy stone and ceramic, and plank comes in long, slim boards that copy wood grain.
Can LVT go in a bathroom?
Yes, most LVT handles bathroom splashes and mopping well. We seal the edges around the tub and toilet so water does not sit at the perimeter. It is not a substitute for a shower pan, so we do not install it inside a shower.
Can LVT go right over the tile I already have?
It depends on the old tile. When it is flat, solid and firmly stuck down, we fill the grout joints and float rigid core LVT on top. Loose, hollow-sounding or cracked tile needs to come out first. We tap-test the floor during our visit and give you a straight answer about which one you have.
Do I need to leave the house during the install?
No. Most people stay home. Tile removal is noisy for part of a day, and you will need another bathroom or a way around the kitchen while we work in that room.
Can I grout luxury vinyl tile?
Only certain lines are made for it. Groutable LVT has small gaps between tiles that we fill with a flexible grout, which gives a very convincing tile look. We can show you samples of both styles.
Is LVT good with dogs and kids?
It holds up well to everyday traffic and accidents. Heavier wear layers resist scratches from claws and toys better, so we point you toward those if you have pets.
